The Record Finishers is the joint main function of the app, alongside Timing. This is where you record the bib numbers of the finishers in the order that they finish. You record all finishers for all Race Options on the same device, as a bib number is unique per Race and cannot be shared in different Race Options.
Note: For this feature to work successfully, you must keep all of your finishers in order, and record their bibs in the order they finish. This is critical. We recommend a finish funnel and volunteers to keep the funnel in order, much like you would see at parkrun.
Whilst it is encouraged to have a backup Recording of Finishers (who can also use this App), you should not try and use multiple devices as the primary device to do so. When you Process Results it will only ever utilise the data from a single device. So you must ensure all timings you wish to upload come from one device only.
Don't worry though, if you make a mistake you can you add accidentally, or . You can then use these to them too.
When you access the screen, you must choose the Race you are going to Record Finishers for..
Start Recording Finishers
Before you start Recording Finishers you must press the Start button. This will prevent any accidental entries until you are ready. We recommend not pressing the button until you see the first finishers heading for the line.
Record Each Finisher
To record a finisher, simply enter the Bib Number of the finisher and press Record or Enter.
If you were online when you started recording your finishers, it will show you some basic details about the person who you recorded. This is a good manual check to ensure the quality of your recordings are good and will significantly speed up the Results Process.
If it is not able to find a finishers with that Bib Number it will not show a name. This is a red flag. it may be that your offline data is not up to date, but you should verify that you have entered the correct bib number.
If you make a mistake, don't worry - make a not of it as you can Correct Mistakes after ending the Race.
Ending a race will end the quick recording of all Race Options, so only do this if you are absolutely sure you want to end the race. You can of course add/edit them after using Correct Mistakes functions.
Its entirely possible that during the course of a race, you make the odd mistake. Typically you might accidentally pressed enter the wrong bib number or enter it twice. You can use this section to see how you correct these issues at the end of the race - but make sure you have someone on hand to note the errors that need correcting!
You can actually delete an incorrect finisher whilst the race is running. But either way you perform the same operation.
Android: Press and hold the finisher you want to delete, and press the Delete button in the actions bar
iOS: Swipe the finisher you want to delete and press the Delete button
This is permanent and destructive.but if you accidentally delete a time, you can always Insert it again.
You can only insert a missed finisher once the race has stopped. When it has though you need to provide the relative position of the record you are inserting along with the bib number you want to insert.
- Above/Below - Choose if you are inserting above or below the Position you enter
- Position - The relative position of the record you are inserting next to
- Bib Number - The bib number of the record you are inserting
In the example below, it will insert Bib 2 Above Position 3 - So between positions 3 and 4.
And the result is as below.
In the next example below, it will insert Bib 8 Below Position 5 - So between positions 6 and 7.
As is shown below
When you are happy with your Finishers, you are able to submit them.
Unless you are Batching your Results, you can leave the Batch box blank. But the important thing is that if you choose to enter a Batch on the Timer, you MUST enter the same Batch into the device being used to Record Finishers.
If you aren't specifically using Batches, just ignore it.
When you are ready, press the Submit Finishers For Processing button.
